EPISODE #173: THE GROUSE AND THE GODDESS

It’s Thanksgiving time in America and we are talking turkeys, and sage grouse, and we are taking your calls on our scary-story line. What does the arrival of the Northern Flicker mean, in augury? How has the Triple Goddess survived relentless persecution by the patriarchal religions of bureaucracy? And why did Benjamin Franklin adore the wild turkey? It’s EPISODE #173: THE GROUSE AND THE GODDESS. Soundscapes by RedBlueBlackSilver, written and hosted by Ken Layne.

EPISODE #157: PHANTOM CRASH ON A UTAH HIGHWAY

What’s going on with that mysterious Utah monolith? What’s going on with Brendan Maze and his new “plague refugee” Substack newsletter? The small-town desert real-estate market is hot, for now, and he’s got some tips on the sorts of under-appreciated properties you might be able to afford. Especially if 10 or 12 of you go in on it, together.

This is Episode #111.

New soundscapes from RedBlueBlackSilver, and don’t forget to check out his new album, Five Flora. You might recognize some of the tracks.

EPISODE #018: HIGH-DESERT HOLIDAYS & PROOF OF UFOS

Desert Oracle
It’s our first annual holiday show, with plenty of Christmas cheer (more or less) from our studios in downtown Joshua Tree. Were you good this year? Well then maybe Santa will bring you Pentagon proof of UFOs and maybe Santa is an alien too, why not? Why not gather ’round the festive Joshua tree with all the colorful insects and whatever else is hidden in the dead needle-tipped branches and join us, this one last time before the new year? Why not??

We’ve got our friend and Pioneertown neighbor Jeremy Corbell of ExtraordinaryBeliefs.com aboard the Desert Oracle Combat Training Center and he has just come back from Skinwalker Ranch, again, and yes that is the very “Utah ranch” discussed in the shocking (?) New York Times reports of a UFO program within the Department of Defense, a program that also involved Nevada billionaire Robert Bigelow and a secret warehouse full of mystery. And our high-desert soundscape wizard RedBlueBlackSilver cooked up a special soundtrack called “Amber” for this haunted conversation. (more…)
