And here’s your Season 3 promo / trailer / whatevr-you-wish-to-call-it:

#058: HIGH WEIRDNESS

"high weirdness" erik davis10PM tonight on KCDZ 107.7 FM Joshua Tree, High Weirdness author @erik_davis joins us for the whole program, about that time when An Unknown Intelligence was in mystic dialogue with Philip K. Dick, Robert A. Wilson & Terence McKenna.

New soundscapes by @RedBluBlkSilver. You can get “High Weirdness” at @skylightbooks, where Erik Davis is doing his thing Saturday 6/8 @ 5PM. Or if you lack a good local bookstore, order it online.

#055: THE GOOFBALL FACTOR

Every weird story that you almost want to believe is required, by cosmic law, to have a Goofball Factor. What is the Goofball Factor? And how does it end up on the front page of the New York Times?

New episode tonight, 10 p.m. on KCDZ 107.7 FM in Joshua Tree, with (mostly) new sounds from RedBlueBlackSilver, plus this weird goblin recording we got off the radio driving through the Owens Valley a few years ago.

Don’t forget the UFO SOCIAL CLUB at the airport bar (on the airstrip in Yucca Valley), Thursday 5/16 at 7 or so. Maybe 8. It’s not a performance. You will have to entertain yourself. Which is the best way to get it done. And yes we are busily mailing out subscriber copies of ISSUE #8. Order a subscription if you don’t already have one. Or pick up a copy at your favorite Hi-Dez shop. It’s our “revenue stream.” (Sometimes.)

Subscribe to the podcast wherever you get ’em: iTunes or Stitcher or Spotify or etc. And did you know we are on Instagram for some reason? (The reason is crass self-promotion.)

#051: I KNOW WHAT I SAW

UFOs
10 p.m. on your High-Desert radio, Z 107.7 FM, it’s a new episode of Desert Oracle Radio and we are going to deal with this alleged “UFO Religion.” What light? Get the podcast wherever you like but it’s on the radio first tonight, best heard on whatever cheap old radio you’ve got. Like the one in your car, or that shed you never go inside, because of what happened.

Three eerie new tracks by RedBlueBlackSilver tonight. Many modern problems are addressed.

#049: DOWN AT THE OLD SCHOOLHOUSE

Due to the government-shutdown emergency, your host was compelled to entertain an audience at the Old Schoolhouse Museum in Twentynine Palms with a series of Strange & Unusual Facts about our desert lands. Listen on IHeartRadio or Spotify or iTunes. Subscribe if you like it. And if you really like it, leave a review.

Recorded at the museum (and with new ambient tracks by) RedBlueBlackSilver. Photograph by Art of Rune.

This was our final event on the Desert Oracle Performance Schedule. Thanks to everybody who came out to all of our events and live shows and Campfire Stories!

#046: TRAVEL OPTIONS FOR THE COLLAPSE

What happens when a civilization collapses? You can’t go camping in Joshua Tree, that’s what. The national parks are overrun with cretins of both varieties: the willful & the dumb. Well, maybe there’s somewhere else to go, somewhere without ticket booths and reserved campgrounds. Yes we are going to Mojave Trails National Monument and that means Route 66 and the alphabet-railroad towns.

Listen on the radio, tonight at 10 p.m. on Z 107.7 FM in Joshua Tree. Subscribe to our at iTunes or wherever/whatever you use for subscribing & listening to podcasts. New soundscapes tonight from our own RedBlueBlackSilver, hand-crafted here in Joshua Tree in a facility that processes nuts.

If you like DESERT ORACLE RADIO, tell your friends, or leave us a nice review on iTunes, etc. (And thanks much to all of you who leave such nice reviews, which are uniformly both literate and poetic.)

#044: A MOJAVE SOLSTICE

christmas baby

Our Wild & Mysterious Mojave Road Trip Map is here.

We’re back with an all-new holiday episode, including a talk with Brendan Maze regarding his Hi-Desert Christmas Pageant and the controversy regarding his foundation’s non-profit status. Also: strange machinery of times past, and more from our Wild & Mysterious Mojave Map. New sounds from RedBlueBlackSilver. Happy Solstice To You All & To All a Good Night.

Subscribe on iTunes or wherever you get your podcasts. Listen live in the High Desert at 10 p.m. Friday nights, on KCDZ 107.7 FM in Joshua Tree.

#043: HIGHWAYS & ALIENS

Here’s the map from tonight’s audio road trip, “HIGHWAYS & ALIENS.” Please use wisely.

Also on tonight’s episode of Desert Oracle Radio: Our friend Jeremy Corbell joins us to discuss & debate the strange tale of Bob Lazar, subject of Corbell’s new documentary, Bob Lazar: Area 51 & Flying Saucers. If you’re in the Los Angeles area, we encourage you to attend the premiere of this all-new movie at the Ace Hotel theater in downtown LA. Or order the film on iTunes or Vimeo.

Subscribe to our podcast at Stitcher or iTunes or whatever you use for subscribing to podcasts. New soundscapes tonight from our own RedBlueBlackSilver, hand-crafted here in Joshua Tree.

#042: OF FIRE AND MONSTERS

Yucca Man
Night has fallen on the desert, and that’s when we like to tell monster stories. Weird tales.

When there’s trouble on the edge of civilization—where the wilderness meets what mankind makes—well here we encounter fierce things both natural and supernatural.

New soundscapes from RedBlueBlackSilver tonight, and a visit from our Phoenix friend Jason P. Woodbury.

Subscribe at iTunes or wherever you choose to get your podcasts. Or better yet: Listen live at 10 p.m. on KCDZ 107.7 FM in the High Desert, “from Amboy to Zzyzx,” and across the Great Mojave Wilderness!
